We’re looking for Art Therapists/Counsellors

Healing Through Arts works with children and adults with Autism spectrum disorders, mental illness, intellectual disabilities, non-verbal, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression, carers, grief and loss issues, Domestic Violence (DV) and self -identity issues. We support people through some of life’s challenges using the creative arts as the communication tool, on the foundation of Psychotherapy and Counselling approaches. 
We work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and are a Registered Provider of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for Therapeutic Supports and Core Supports Our approach encompasses holistic and healing modalities with the creative arts to support people reaching their goals.
We are currently looking for Art Therapists who can work from outskirts of the city up to the Barossa Valley. You will have at least 12 months experience and have worked in mental health, disability or other community health areas with a strong knowledge of challenges for people living with mental illness and disabilities. We consult at our Edinburgh North and Mawson Lakes office’s, community centres and venues, and also go into residential facilities, schools and people’s homes.
As an Independent Contractor, you will be passionate about your work and a have strong business sense. You will have your own ABN, insurance, relevant qualifications that are nationally recognized and in line with NDIS regulations and be willing to drive from place to place. You will need to be a great communicator, savvy with case management and be confident regularly working independently, although you’ll be supported by our Admin and HR team as well as other Therapists. You can work your own hours to suit your lifestyle and family commitments and will be paid generously for your commitment and natural ability to connect with people and support them in their healing journey.
There will be opportunities to work from home doing telehealth (zoom) sessions, as well as some regional work. Theres some exciting things happening at the moment, so this may be an opportunity to bring your creative passions to the forefront through 1-1 sessions, group Therapy and community workshops. We think outside the square and are incredibly innovative in our approach to how we support the people we work with.
